Thermophillic/Mesophillic Compost Photo Album
Photos showing the steps to make a thermophillic compost pile (1m X 1m). If it isn't turned over (and watered as necessary) every three days for five days it will become a mesophillic compost pile. The ingredients for our thermophillic compost pile include straw and arrowroot (biomass and carbon), cowpea (green manure and a perfect carbon to nitrogen ratio for compost making), azolla and horse manure (inoculants and nitrogen), tansy and yarrow (compost activators) and water (added to every layer and for making a slurry of whatever animal manure is available in compost making process).
